The Guild has a meeting most months of the year.  An informative program is presented at each meeting.  Our fiscal year runs from September to August, with our Fall meeting in September and a Christmas Event in December.  We do not have meetings in July or August.  Meetings are held at the Taylor Health Sciences Bldg., Taylor Auditorium, 1526 East Medical Center Drive, St. George, the second Saturday of the month, at 10 am.

A part of each Guild Meeting is a volunteer sharing session where members can bring a quilt or project they have worked on to show to others in the Guild.  It is amazing to see the beautiful quilts, wall hangings, bags, and other items that members of the Guild create.

Each year, members of the Guild go to Springdale, Utah, for a fun retreat at a nominal cost, plus accomodations.  We lodge in a hotel and have a great time quilting together.  This retreat is an excellent opportunity to spend quality time quilting and have fun with fellow Guild members.  The annual Retreat is usually held in February/March, with information announced in the Fall during Guild meetings and is also published in the Newsletter.

Guild members can participate monthly in our Philanthropy program.  All donated materials are clean and organized in a central location.  There, members can participate in all aspects of creating quilts for various local charities.  Members can also complete kits at home that are produced by the Philanthropy group and made available at Guild meetings.  These quilts vary in size and range in skill level from beginner to advanced. 

Workshops are available to all Guild members at a nominal cost, payable at the time of registration.  Some months, the workshops are geared towards beginning quilters, and some are for the more advanced.  All Guild members are welcome regardless.  The workshop is designed to be a fun social gathering and an opportunity to learn from one another.  A great day of learning and fun with friends.

Twice a year, the Guild manages a local week of “Open Sew” where members can set up and work on any projects without having to take down each day, similar to a retreat, but it’s only $10 to attend, and half of the attendees receive a door prize! 

Friendship Groups consist of members in our Guild who get together monthly to socialize and/or work on projects. Groups typically consist of 6 to 10 quilters. The Group decides when to meet and what they want to work on when together. Some groups do Show & Tell and share what they have learned. The members of these groups often become good friends and frequently expand their activities beyond quilting.  Inquire about joining a Friendship Group for a great way to socialize and learn from other quilters.

Guild members collaborate with local charities and organizations to support those in need beyond our immediate area. We have supported Sew Much Hope, Hobbs Charity and other giving programs. Our Philanthropy group, noted in this section, is also a large charity organization. Members can participate in and support charity functions in various ways.

The Guild sponsors an annual Challenge Quilt, usually with specific guildelines, such as color, theme, size, or other parameters.  Joining the challenge is a great way to jumpstart your quilting journey with the Guild!
